Princess is 4

Today my little Princess turns FOUR! I can not believe it's been four years since I had my first baby! She has continued to amaze me. I am as in love with her as I was the very day I found out I was having her...as much as the day I laid eyes on her beautiful face...

as I was the day she said Mommy...

as I was the day she said "i love you" for the first time...

as I ever have been!

This last year has been so much fun! I have watched my sweet baby go from a toddler to a little girl! Here is a collage of some of my favorite's from this year...and if you will notice, she almost ALWAYS is smiling!

Little Princess at FOUR!
My precious little Princess.  You have no idea how much Mommy prayed for you or for how long!  When you came into this world my entire life changed and I knew that instant you were worth the wait!  I had no idea how much my heart would swell with joy and love.  You are my beautiful Princess and I love you more than you will ever know!
  • You have a fantastic imagination!  You love to pretend you are your favorite character and role play.  You always want the whole family involved and give us a role to play along with you.  It is wonderful to experience this with you!
  • You are such a princess.  You love to dress up, you love to wear lip gloss, and you love to have your hair fixed so you feel beautiful.
  • You are having the most fun when you are outside!  You love your trampoline and swing set you got from your Gigi and Gman.  You also love to ride your tricycle, play inside your playhouse, play in the sandbox, play with your tball set, or even just blow bubbles.  If you are outside, you are happy!
  • You learned how to snap in the last couple of weeks.  I am so proud of you because you are so proud of yourself for learning something new and challenging.
  • You love puzzles.  I like to know that you are flexing that little brain of yours to new places when you put them together.  But I have to admit, I hate keeping up with the little pieces and the mess they make.  LOL
  • You know your ABC's, can count to 10 in spanish, to 25 in English (maybe more but you get tired of counting!), and best of all YOU CAN WRITE AND SPELL YOUR NAME!!!! =)
  • You have a great memory!  You know the words to songs we hear or sing after only hearing them once or twice.
  • You love your little sister and it shows.  You share anything with her...toys, desserts, and even your clothes.
  • You personality is coming out more each day.  You are shy, but at the same time very friendly.  No matter where we are you are likely to make friends with someone.
  • You are always asking for me to tell you stories about when you were a baby.  You are sentimental like Mommy, but at the same time you love hearing the funny parts and that reminds me of Daddy!
  • You love your daddy like crazy and he is your hero, but you are and always have been Mommy's little girl!  You are always telling me that you love me.  It melts my heart!
My most favorite part of this year is that you asked Jesus to come and live in your heart.  We talk a lot about it and what it means to us.  Most recently we talked about when you are feeling uncertain because you are alone in your bedroom that Jesus lives in your heart and that means you are never alone.  Sweet girl, our God has big plans for your life and I am enjoying seeing you grow.
Jeremiah 29:11 For I know what I have planned for you,’ says the Lord. 19  ‘I have plans to prosper you, not to harm you. I have plans to give you 20  a future filled with hope. 21  29:12 When you call out to me and come to me in prayer, 22  I will hear your prayers. 23  29:13 When you seek me in prayer and worship, you will find me available to you. If you seek me with all your heart and soul, 24  29:14 I will make myself available to you,’ 25  says the Lord.

Crazy Weather!

We've had some CRAZY weather here in Alabama this month.  Just a week ago I was moaning about having to take ANOTHER vacation day for snow and ice.  {I prefer to take a vacation with my toes in the sand staring at the Gulf of Mexico}  Then by the weekend, it was WARM!

The girls and I made the best of the snow day.  The morning was a little rough so we decided to get outside and play before the snow all melted away.  And even though this year we have had snow several times already...we really do rarely get snow here.

Then, over the weekend we began to get the normal warmer weather.  So we got out and played...AGAIN.  =)

I learned that snow days can be made fun and my girls *LOVE* each other and have fun together!  Not bad for one week.  And best of all, I spent time enjoying my most favorite part of my life...my girlies.

On a side note we tried to get our counter tops installed over the weekend.  In short, the counter tops were cut wrong for the SECOND time.  I may elaborate more on that in another post.  But for now, we are still without one side.  Gasp!  Soon, very soon, I plan to have them picture perfect! =)

Typography Project

This weeks challenge for The CSI Project is Typography!  I have loved all the subway art and free printables I've seen all over blogland so I decided to try to whip something up.  My inspiration was The Little Missy Princess.  She was dubbed that immediately by her Mimi.  It just fits her little personality so well.  And since her birthday is coming up I decided to try my hand at creating a printable all about her!  I included various words that immediately came to mind when I thought of her.  Ofcourse they all couldn't fit!  So I chose a few and got to work.

The printable has her actual birthdate but I am sure you understand why I didn't include it to share on my blog.  =)  I am weird like that I guess.

I created this using Microsoft Office Powerpoint.  I downloaded free fonts that I thought were fitting for the word I was using if I didn't have a font I liked.  I used Word Art and changed the colors and fonts.  I randomly place the words other than her nickname and her birthdate.  I purposefully placed the nickname in the middle and the birthdate at the end.
So what do you think?
I thought this project was SUPER fun to make so I made one for Cupcake!  I plan to print them off and put them in their rooms.  And the best part?  It took me less than an hour.  Even including writing my blog post!  Now my mind is racing with all the cute holiday typography prints I could make!  Have you made any typography crafts or projects?

Cupcake turns 2!

Happy Happy Birthday to my SWEET Lil' Cupcake!  Today she turns two!  =)  Since this is obviously a very busy time of year we had her party early.  The first weekend in December actually.  Before the party she and her sister followed me outside while I was loading up the swagger wagon.  I grabbed my camera and tried to snap some shots.  This was the best I could get before the party.  (Don't ask what she's doing with that tongue.  Her sister did the same thing at the same age.  LOL!  It's hard to get a smile when they are always cutting up!)
I decided to have her bday party close to her school in hopes we'd get better participation from friends.  Chuck E. Cheeses was about the only option.  AND it turned out to be a great one!  We had several friends show up:

And of course family:

By the way, if you can't tell from this picture, my niece, the one in the car accident, is doing well!

The birthday girl and all her friends had fun!  And this was the easiest possible party a mommy could ever dream of having!  WIN-WIN!!!
I was worried about how she'd react to Chuck E.  She loved him!  He put the birthday crown on her and she high fived him:
I was unsure about how she'd do opening presents, but she was like a pro!

Lil Cupcake was quite possessive of the inflatable red crown!  She wore it for at least a week and would say "my happy day!"  She would not dare share it with her sister.  I had to pull out the Princess hat that the Princess wore for her bday celebration so they'd both have "happy day" hats!  Ha!  And Cupcake did an awesome job at blowing out her candle!

To all of my friends and family who made this day so special THANK YOU!!!

Cupcake At TWO!

My sweet little two year old!  I can not believe it's been TWO years since you were born.  You are such a sweetheart.
  • You LOVE your babies.  You are always trying to kiss, love, diaper, put a blanket on, or just playing with baby dolls or a stuffed animal!  You are such a little caregiver.
  • You love our Einie and you are always trying to hug him and pet him.  You love to go visit friends with pets!
  • You are also very strong willed and self confident.  I love this about you.
  • You love to sing and dance.  You are a wonderful singer!  I noticed at a very early age you are ON KEY AND HAVE RHYTHM!  You love for me to sing to you and you always sing along with me.  I have lullabies that I made up, but your favorite is "you are my Sunshine".  :)
  • You can count to 15 and you know your colors and alphabet.  You know most words to many songs we listen to or sing.  You also know how to say the blessing over our food and frequently join in with me when we say our night-night prayers.
  • You are my blond haired beauty.
  • You love to read.  If you see a book you are asking someone to read it to you.
  • You love your sister.  You two have such a special bond and I pray it is a never ending friendship.  You want to be a big girl like her and will do everything she does.  =)  You two can love on each other one minute and fight like it's the end of the world the next!  But mostly, you love each other.
  • You are SUCH the snuggle bunny!  You love to cuddle up to your mommy or daddy and go to sleep.
  • You love your daddy!  You two have a special bond.  I'm not calling you a daddy's girl just yet ;)

You have such a sweet and kind heart and my mind is filled with the endless possibilities of what your life will bring! =)

I Samuel 1:27 "I prayed for this child, and the LORD has granted me what I asked of him."

Christmas Parade

So last weekend was supposed to be our annual Christmas parade.  The company I work for is celebrating 50 years in the community and had requested for some employee volunteers to participate in local parades.  I was planning to participate in the parade in my city.  I got the girls all decked out:
It was FREEZING that day!  So underneath each of their little outfits were additional shirts and tights and socks...lol!

The weather was 'iffy' and the parade ended up getting cancelled.  It had already been postponed the day before.  Since we were all dressed we ended up getting out for dinner that afternoon at Applebea's.  The girls were decently behaved.  Well, Cupcake was acting like a two year old all night, but hey, she is almost two.  At any rate, we enjoyed a family dinner out.
On another note, the girls made the following ornaments at school and brought them home last week.  Each of them made snowmen.  Princess's ornament had two pieces on the bottom...a dress.  So she's a snow girl actually.  Ha, ha!

The girls also made rudolph's using their hands and fingerpaint as the antlers.  They were adorable kiddy crafts 2!  Did your kids make any cute crafts to bring home from school?

Santa Claus is Comin' 2 Town!

Santa Claus has set up shop downtown.  He and Mrs. Claus always come to our town and stay in the same historic home to take time and visit with children.  Since we had a 'snow day' Monday the hubs and I took the girls to visit Santa!  =)
Cupcake didn't want ANYTHING to do with Santa until he made a peace offering.  At that point she was willing to look at him without crying.  ;-)

Princess on the other hand, was ALL about Santa this year!  She told him she wants Zhu-Zhu pets.  (thank you Saturday morning cartoons)

She was so excited this year!  Last year she was saying "NO HO-HO!"  I am really happy that she is enjoying Santa visiting this year =)

I took a couple of shots of the girls in front of our tree before we left to visit Santa.  It was SO cold here I had to put long sleeve shirts and leggings underneath their cute little smocked dresses!

My girls...my love and my life!

Have you all been to visit Santa?  How old were your kiddos when they began to enjoy visiting Santa?

Wordless Wednesday

Remember the tickets we won to go back to the farm?  Here are the pics from our second trip.  Mimi got to go this time!
