Pumpkin Carving 2010

This weekend was Busy-Busy, but LOADED with fun.  I knew that it would be busy so I had planned to take Friday afternoon off work.  And wouldn't you know it, the LAST month we are on the market we get TWO appointments to view the house!  I had to run home and CLEAN which left me no time to prepare for the weekend like I had orignally planned!  So, Saturday morning we got up and got the girls ready to go take some family pics.  After promising them icecream if they were good, I had to pay up.  Next Cupcake took a quick nap and we left for a local campground on the mountain.  It was BEAUTIFUL there.  We spent time with my mom and Step-dad and all of his kids and grandkids and my brother.  I had a really rough week at work and had been mentally drained, therefore, forgot my camera.  If we get to do it again then I will definately be taking it because there were some great photo ops and great memories of making smores, glow sticks, chili, and football made there!  Speaking of football, I am SO excited that AUBURN is No.1 in the BCS!!!!!!!!  YAY!!!!!!!!  Ok, I know, enough of that.  ;-)  So today after church we went to join my best friend and her family for pumpkin carving.  Below are some pics!
These sweet sisters carved the same skull pumpkins.  They were so cute!  I have a pick of all pumpkins carved toward the end of the post ;-)

Daddy carving away!

My bestie taking care of the Cupcake.  Nope, she's not asleep, just enjoying her Aunt Nannie's loving!

My bestie's niece.  She is such a cutie pie and so sweet!

Since it's almost Thanksgiving this turkey was a great idea!

My baby, she was so tired!
This Little Princess was so excited to be carving pumpkins!

All the pumpkins!  I didn't post pics of everyone due to privacy of those who might not be interested in being on a public blog.  =)  But it was a crowd and some cute pumpkins 2!

She jumped in front of the camera and yelled "CHEESE", so I had to snap this one!  =)

Daddy carved this spider per request of the Princess.  It's her "itsy-bitsy spider"

I carved this one for my Cupcake.  I love this jolly pumpkin face.  I've been carving the same one for several years so he is a tradition.  =)

How was your weekend?  Did you all carve any pumpkins yet?  Although fall is in full swing with all the activities it is still in the 80's here!  Whew!

Front Door Face-lift

I have made promises of posting projects for months now. I am finally following through with a post. I am A.D.D about finishing projects and just seem to LOVE starting new ones BEFORE I finish the last. I am FAMOUS for leaving one oh so close to being done I can taste it, yet not following through. Hmmm....wonder what that says about me? I don't even want to analyze! LOL! So I did finish giving my front door a FACELIFT. Here is a pic of before. And while you are looking and saying to yourself, how can she live with this gross and 'country' blue color and a terribly gross looking brass door knob? Remember, we have a side entry garage and I NEVER go in the front door. LOL!

YUCK! I know!

I saw this guy on our brick in the front of the house and couldn't resist the pic. Don't worry I had the zoom lens on!

I started by removing the beaten brass knobs and lock from the door. I spray painted them brushed knickel. Next I used black paint and a paint brush to paint the front door. I debated on spray painting it, however the thought of taking the door off of the hinge and finding something big enough to keep me from getting spray paint all around the door....MADDENING. So, I just did it the good ole fashion way. ;-) My husband checked on me frequently to be sure I didn't have any drips. At first I found it annoying but then when I missed a drip, I was glad he was doing it! =) I also picked up some mums in one of my favorite fall colors for the empty planter. ;-) Here is the after!

What's that? You like my wreath? Want a tutorial on it? Get in your car and RACE to the nearest Costco. I purchased it for 22 buckaroos and noticed last week they'd been reduced to $14! =) You can't buy the supplies that cheap and my time is worth far more these days!

Happy Fall Yall!!!

On the Farm, Part II

This post is going to mainly be pics from the farm visit!  I will say that I entered the Princess pic from the last post of her in the corn bin in a contest and it won us 2 tickets to the farm again!  We are so EXCITED!  We plan to go back when Mimi comes for a visit!  We also won 2 additional tickets for a ride on the Corn Train!  Aside from the big slide in the last post this was a FAVORITE of my girls =)

Tons of cute decorated bails of hay

 Pumpkin Pickin' 101

 Love my baby's eyes here!
Daddy braved the Hay Maze after I told him exactly how to work your way through any maze!  Wanna know the trick?  If you ever find yourself lost in a maze, just put your hand on one wall and follow only that side of the wall.  You will eventually get out.  ;-)

Loads of Fun for the Family!  I hope you all are having a blessed Wednesday!

Getting Down on the Farm!

We made our annual visit to the local farm this week.  The girls had a blast.  I will say it was 90 degrees and we had already put all our summer clothes up so the cutest we could do were our AUBURN dresses.  Luckily the owners of our favorite farm are big Auburn fans!  I knew I liked them!  This post will mostly be pics with comments sprinkled through out.  I will be breaking it into two posts due to the amount of photos I have to share.
Waiting on the hayride!
At the entrance.  The Cupcake was just waking up from a short nap and did not want a pic taken.
She didn't like the hay!

Daddy and Cupcake.  Cupcake was still tired.

Loving the corn bins!

WEeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee!

The girls LOVED this slide.

Cotton Bin FUN!

That's all for today.  But I have more to come!  And I still have to take a pic of the 'after' on my latest home improvement project which was a front door face lift!

Cupcake got her ears pierced!

Guess what?!!  Well, I guess the title gave it away.  But we are so excited that our Lil' Cupcake got her ears pierced.  I have felt so bad because I couldn't actually get them pierced when she was a baby like we did her sister.  Daddy was in Iraq serving our country and mommy was lucky just to get us all bathed and to and from work and school.  And when I did have extra time I was snoozing.  But I'm sure she understands. =)
She was so excited!  She WANTED her ears pierced.  Yep, I changed out the Lil' Princess earrings the other day and she ran over  wanting her own earrings.  Except we couldn't give her any because she didn't have the ears pierced.  So tonight when we went to the mall I asked her if she wanted to get her ears pierced and she said yes.  As we sat in the chair she said "earrings".  It was so adorable.  They pierced each ear at the same time.  And she only cried for about 2 or 3 minutes.  VERY quick recovery for her!  =)
And here is a pic of our pretty lil' princess.  She was there being the best little supporter for her sister.
On another note, today I worked on some home improvement and craft projects.  I hope to share atleast one soon!!!  Hope you all are having a very blessed weekend!

Ducks!

The hubs and I took the girls to feed the ducks last weekend at a local park. We all had a fantastic time for all of $4!!! On the way to the park we stopped in Walgreens where I purchased 2 loaves of bread for four bucks. =) The girls LOVED it and so did we!  I'm not sure if the Lil' Cupcake enjoyed eating the bread or throwing it more!  LOL!!!  We fed geese, fish, and various types of ducks.  This weekend, we are heading to our local farm to have some fun!  You won't want to miss that post.  That place is a BLAST!  Enoy the pics!

Yay, I got in some pics!  =)  Thank you Daddy!

What do you all have planned for FALL FUN???

"Be a best friend, tell the truth, and overuse I love you

Go to work, do your best, don't outsmart your common sense

Never let your prayin' knees get lazy

And love like crazy"

Just thinking about how lucky I am to have married someone how has the same values in life as me!

Tag, You're It!

Ok, so this post is LONG overdue.  But the game is you answer 8 questions given to you by another blogger.  Mine was Jenn, at The Getts Times.  Then you tag other bloggers to do the same with your 8 questions.  Pretty neat?!  So here goes!!!

1. What is YOUR most embarrassing moment?

I fell not once, but twice in one week on the way to class at Auburn (WaaaaaaaaaaaaAR Eagle!!!!!).  The second time ripped my jeans (again) and bloodied up my knee so bad but I had to go to class because the professor counted off for missed days!  YIKES!!!  I was SO embaressed!!!!

2. What is you favorite food?
Spaghetti.  Home cooked spaghetti with angel hair pasta.  =)

3. What is your biggest pet-peeve?
Rude smokers.  Please, dispose of your 'butt' in a TRASHCAN and blow your smoke in your own direction.  Thank you!  ;-)

4. What would you say is your passion in life?
Right now my passion is being a mommy.

5. If you could travel anywhere in the world where would you go and why?
I would take a NICE VACATION to DISNEY  =)  I want to take my girls to disney really bad.  I know they are going to LOVE it when we finally get to go!

6. What is a favorite childhood memory?
I had a great childhood.  I have MANY good memories.
Picking plums or blackberries with my dad
Going shopping every weekend at the $7 store with my mom (LOL! I know, big spenders..but it was SUCH fun!)
Playing outside with my brother in a big ditch full of red dirt digging 'steps' so we could get out easier.  I think he mainly was playing with He-man or the Optimus Prime, but I was creating a 'space' for us to play in (or maybe it was for my barbies to get out, who knows!).  LOL!

7. If you could change something about yourself what would it be and why?
I get sick alot.  Specifically I get a sinus infection about once every month and a half.  I thought sinus surgery would remedy this but it's still happening.  I would definately want to be healthy all the time!  I hate being down 4 or more days that often!

8. what is your favorite sport?
FOOTBALL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
War Eagle!

Rather than tag people specifically, I am going to ask the readers of my blog 8 questions....
My ?'s to bloggers:
1. What is your favorite food?
2. Why do you blog?
3. Do you comment on blogs and why?
4. What's your most embaressing moment?
5. What is your college famous for?  (Mine, Auburn Astronauts!!! =))
6.  If money/time were not objects where would you take your next vacation?
7.  What's your best beauty tip?
8.  Who is your all time favorite football player?  ;-)  (I LOVE Bo Jackson!!!)

Leave me a comment or write a post =)  Love yall!  Have a FABULOUS football filled FALL weekend!!!!!!!!
